Standing Together - Restoring Hope
Augusta’s New Center of Hope
A new, purpose-built shelter creating dignity, safety, and real progress for families and individuals experiencing homelessness.
Homelessness Has Changed; the Center of Hope Must Change Too.
Our community has already identified more than $14.9 million toward a new Center of Hope. Less than $1 million remains.
The Center of Hope is the Augusta area’s only emergency overnight shelter for men, women, and families with children.
On average, 20 families ask The Salvation Army for shelter every day.
In Augusta-Richmond County, 55% of households earn below the basic cost of living, with 22% below the poverty line.
The New Center of Hope will offer more safe, dignified spaces for men, women, and especially families.
A new Center of Hope will expand our ability to respond — but we must complete this campaign to make that expansion possible.
Help us complete Augusta’s New Center of Hope
The final phase of the Standing Together - Restoring Hope Campaign is critical. Your gift helps complete construction and secure the long-term stability of the Center of Hope through both capital and endowment funding. Help close the final gap and bring Augusta’s New Center of Hope across the finish line.
A Space Designed for Dignity
This modern, purpose-built shelter creates defined spaces for families with children, women, and men — improving safety, structure, and outcomes.
With nearly double our current capacity, the new Center allows us to serve up to 200 individuals per night — with expanded casework and coordinated services.
Hope is at the Center.
Since 2022, the Center of Hope has helped more than 400 individuals transition from homelessness to stable housing. Transformation is possible through structured casework, accountability, and a place to rebuild.
Standing Together
More than 300 partners, donors, and community leaders are helping make this vision possible.
